Our Team

Simon Barlow
Director

Raised on the Border. Married to Nicole with four sons. Completed a Bachelor of Business (Acc) with Charles Sturt University in 1998 before commencing work with MBH Wise Chartered Accountants in Kiewa Street (above Paul’s old office). Completed a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning with the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA) in 2004 and became an Authorised Representative in 2005. I left MBH Wise (now called Provincial Accounting) in January 2007 and started Barlow Financial Planning and raising our four very busy boys on side. I was Treasurer of Albury Pre-School for 9 years; Treasurer of Twin City Wanderers Football Club for 3 years; and since 2012, I have served on various sub-committees for the Albury Wodonga Football Association developing and reviewing their Rules and Regulations and Strategic Planning. With the youngest of our boys about to finish his primary years of schooling, the decision to grow organically or to purchase another business was high on the agenda and having had a business and a social connection with Georgie for nearly 16 years (we worked together at MBH Wise back in 2001), Armstrongs appeared on the horizon and the opportunity was too good to pass up.

Georgie Phillips
Director

Georgie’s career in the Financial Planning industry began in the late 1990’s and has seen her move up through ranks from Paraplanner, Adviser, obtaining her CFP before starting her own business on her return to Albury in 2008. Helping people with their financial goals has always been front and centre with Georgie and a short stint away from the industry made her realise that this is the industry that she loves and is passionate about. This then resulted in her joining forces with Simon and the subsequent purchase of Armstrongs Financial Advisers was inevitable. Married to Adam with two young children, Archie and Ruby, Georgie has a love of cooking, singing and travelling.
